The best multilingual wedding invitation websites (2026)

Published 1 October 2026

Do you have guests who speak different languages, and need the right tool for your digital invitation? There are plenty of options and they do not all do the same thing: some translate automatically for each guest, some ask you to write every version by hand, and some are not built around languages at all. Here is an honest look at the main tools in 2026: how they handle languages, what they cost and who they suit best.

A note on transparency

Sponsalia is our own product, so we have an obvious interest. The other tools are described only from their public pages as of October 2026: prices and features can change, and it is worth rechecking their sites before you decide. When something is not shown on their pages, we say so ("not stated") rather than assume it is missing.

How we chose what to look at

We give no scores or rankings: every couple has different priorities. We compared every tool on the same six points.

  • Per-guest language: does each guest see the invitation in their own language, or does everyone see the same version?
  • Automatic or manual translation: do the texts translate themselves, or do you write them language by language?
  • How guests receive it: personal link, email, SMS, WhatsApp, QR code.
  • RSVP: replies, dietary needs, plus-ones and custom questions.
  • Price: free, one-time, per send or subscription, and in which currency.
  • Where the data lives: servers in the EU or elsewhere, which matters for European guests.

To understand the underlying problem, meaning why one invitation that speaks several languages works better than two versions side by side, read the guide to multilingual wedding invitations.

Sponsalia

Sponsalia is a digital wedding invitation built for couples with guests in several languages: you create one invitation and each guest opens their own personal link and finds it already in their language. It includes WhatsApp sharing, RSVP with dietary needs and a catering export, a gift list with IBAN and EU infrastructure.

Best for

Couples with guests in several countries who want a single invitation, a personal link per guest to send on WhatsApp, and everything else (replies, menus, gift list) in the same place.

Languages

17 languages. Each guest sees the invitation in their own language automatically, through their personal link, with no manual work on your side.

Price

Free to build and preview; you pay only when you publish, €89 one time. For weddings with several days or events there is the Destination plan at €149. No subscription. It is not the cheapest option: if budget is your main criterion, look at LumiWed and Weddybird below.

LumiWed

LumiWed is a Dutch wedding website platform with RSVP, built for multicultural couples. Each guest opens the site from a personal "magic link" in their own language; the couple's texts are translated automatically and stay editable.

Best for

Anyone who wants a multilingual wedding website at a low price, with automatic per-guest translation. We will say it plainly: it costs less than we do and does the same core thing, showing each guest their own language. It is a website with RSVP rather than an invitation with an envelope and card-style design, and it has no gift registry (its own site says so). Sending is by email; WhatsApp is not mentioned on its site.

Languages

18 languages on the paid plan; the free plan includes 2.

Price

Free for up to 50 guests (2 languages, 4 themes). Premium is €59 one time, up to 1,000 guests, with all languages; extending the site's lifetime costs €19. Where the data is hosted is not stated on the pages we read.

Weddybird

Weddybird is a wedding website builder with RSVP, a photo gallery and a QR code for printed stationery, run by a company in Hamburg. It started for the German-speaking market, but there is also an English version.

Best for

Anyone looking for an affordable website with many languages, EU servers and, optionally, their own domain. Guests receive the link you share by chat, email or SMS, or the QR code. Its pages do not say whether translation is automatic or whether each guest gets an assigned language: worth checking.

Languages

More than 40 languages, with content customisable for each. Multilingual is listed as a Premium plan feature.

Price

The Basic plan is free (templates, a gallery of up to 20 photos, online RSVP, QR code). Premium is €69 for 12 months, Premium with a domain €89, one-time payment with no automatic renewal. It states that its servers are in the European Union.

You will find the full comparison in Sponsalia vs Weddybird.

Greenvelope

Greenvelope is a US platform for digital invitations and event management, known for its animated envelope and reply tracking. It is not a website builder: from the invitation you can link an outside wedding website.

Best for

Anyone who wants a polished invitation with an animated envelope and many delivery channels (email, SMS in supported countries, WhatsApp, Messenger, link) and flexible RSVP questions, and is fine with a price list in dollars.

Languages

The language is set per event. Built-in ones include at least English, Spanish, German, French and Dutch (its pages disagree on the exact list), and you can write a custom language. A language assigned to each individual guest and automatic translation are not stated.

Price

In dollars, per mailing: $19 up to 20 guests, $59 up to 60, $99 up to 100, with larger tiers and an optional annual membership. The service is operated from the United States; EU hosting is not stated. Check the price list on their site, as it may change.

Joy

Joy (WithJoy) is a free, well-made wedding website that earns its money through its gift registry.

Best for

Couples with guests in a single language, mainly in the United States, who want a full website at no cost and a registry with shipping.

Languages

According to our comparison, the content is in one language only and there is no automatic per-guest translation.

Price

Free. Again per our comparison, the registry is geared to US shipping and the servers are in the US.

WedSites

WedSites is a wedding website builder with a flexible visual editor, a photo gallery and customisable sections.

Best for

Anyone who wants a complete wedding website, not just the invitation, and has guests in one language or is willing to work on the versions by hand.

Languages

According to our comparison, translation is manual: you duplicate and translate each page yourself. The Pro plan lets you assign a language to each guest.

Price

There is a free plan; the Pro plan is $199 one time, and monthly plans exist. Servers are in the United States by default.

Zola and Paperless Post, briefly

These are two very well-known US names that come up often in searches. From their public pages, they do not appear to be built around guests who speak different languages.

Zola says in its FAQ that website translation is not automatic: the couple adds content in another language by hand. It also states that it does not offer digital invitations (invitations are print only; digital save-the-dates are free).

Paperless Post offers digital invitations with many designer collections, but its site shows an English (US) interface and we found no per-guest language stated. It prices in dollars and text delivery works only for the US and Canada.

How to choose

  • Guests in several languages and no wish to translate by hand: look for automatic per-guest language, as in Sponsalia and LumiWed.
  • Tightest budget: LumiWed (free up to 50 guests, then €59) or Weddybird (free plan, Premium €69).
  • Many languages, EU servers and your own domain: Weddybird.
  • An animated-envelope invitation, delivery by email, SMS and WhatsApp, and a dollar price list is no problem: Greenvelope.
  • Guests all in the same language, mainly in the US: Joy or WedSites.
  • WhatsApp, an IBAN gift list and replies you can export for the caterer: Sponsalia.

For side-by-side tables, head to our general comparison. And remember: the safest advice is to try. Almost all of these tools can be previewed for free before you pay.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best multilingual wedding invitation website?
There is no single answer: it depends on budget and priorities. If you need each guest to read the invitation in their own language without translating by hand, look at tools with automatic per-guest language, such as Sponsalia and LumiWed. LumiWed costs less; Sponsalia adds WhatsApp sharing, an IBAN gift list and a catering export. Sponsalia is our own product, so weigh our opinion accordingly.
Do guests have to choose their language?
It depends on the tool. In Sponsalia each guest opens their own personal link and finds the invitation already in their language; LumiWed also opens the site in the guest's preferred language through a personal link. In Greenvelope the language is set at event level.
Is there a free multilingual wedding invitation?
Partly. LumiWed is free for up to 50 guests, with 2 languages. Weddybird has a free Basic plan, but multilingual is listed as a Premium feature. With Sponsalia you build and preview for free and pay €89 one time only when you publish.
Which of these tools keep data in Europe?
Sponsalia states EU infrastructure and Weddybird states servers in the European Union. For LumiWed the data region is not stated on the pages we read. Greenvelope is operated from the United States, and per our comparison Joy and WedSites use US servers. In every case, check the current privacy policy before you choose.
