Terms of Service

Last updated: 21 August 2026

These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) govern the use of Sponsalia and the purchase of an invitation’s publication. By using the service or making a purchase you fully accept these Terms. The service provider is DripBuild di Stefano Frediani, a sole trader based in Roma (Italy), Italian VAT no. 18679611006 (“Sponsalia”, “we”). Please read them carefully and keep a copy.

1. Definitions

  • “Service”: the Sponsalia platform for creating, publishing and managing digital wedding invitations.
  • “Customer” / “you”: the person who creates an account and purchases the publication of an invite.
  • “Guest”: the person who receives the invite and may submit their RSVP.
  • “Content”: texts, names, dates, guest list, photographs, music tracks and any other data or file entered or uploaded by the Customer.

2. The service

Sponsalia lets you create a digital wedding invitation from predefined design templates, customize its texts, publish it online and collect your guests’ RSVPs through a dedicated dashboard.

The service is digital only: there are no printed items, no app to install and no physical delivery. The invite is shared through a link generated by the platform.

3. Eligibility and account

To use the service you must be at least 18 and create an account with true, complete and up-to-date information. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for any activity carried out through your account.

Authentication is handled through an external provider (Clerk). You must promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Price, payment and receipt

Creating and customizing the invite is free. Publishing requires a one-time payment of €89. There are no subscriptions or recurring costs.

Prices are in euro and inclusive of applicable taxes. After payment you receive a supporting document in accordance with applicable law.

Payment is handled by our external provider (Stripe). Sponsalia does not process or store your card details.

5. Free preview

Before paying, you can see a full, free preview of the invite, so you can decide with full awareness whether to proceed to publication. Please check all content in the preview before publishing.

6. Right of withdrawal (consumers)

If you act as a consumer you generally have the right to withdraw within 14 days of purchase, without giving a reason.

However, the service provides digital content not supplied on a tangible medium. At purchase you are asked to give express consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that, once the invite is published, you lose the right of withdrawal under Art. 59(1)(o) of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005).

If publication has not yet occurred, or for any issue, you can contact us at info@sponsalia.app: we will consider your request in good faith.

7. Customer obligations and acceptable use

You agree to use the service lawfully and not to:

  • enter unlawful, defamatory, offensive content or content that infringes the rights of others;
  • infringe third parties’ intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • attempt unauthorized access to the systems, circumvent security measures or overload the infrastructure;
  • use the service for purposes other than creating a personal wedding invitation.

Files you upload (photographs, music tracks): by uploading them you declare that you are their author or that you otherwise hold every right needed — copyright and related rights included — to reproduce them and let your guests see or hear them through the service. Buying a commercial track, or having it in your streaming subscription, does not grant you those rights: only upload music for which you hold them.

If a third party brings a claim, action or damages request against us because of the Content you entered, you undertake to hold us harmless from the reasonable costs involved, including legal defence costs. This does not apply to the extent the claim arises from our own conduct.

We do not review Content before publication and are under no obligation to do so. If, however, we receive a substantiated notice, or otherwise become aware that a piece of content is unlawful or infringes third-party rights, we may remove it or disable access to it — without prior notice where its seriousness requires — and we tell you the reasons.

Anyone can report illegal content to us: the procedure, what a notice must contain and our timescales are on the Reporting page.

By entering third-party data (e.g. the guest list) you declare that you have the right to process it. For that data the Customer acts as data controller and Sponsalia as technical provider (processor): see the Privacy Policy.

8. AI seating assistant

The service includes an assistant based on artificial intelligence that proposes a seating arrangement from the guests who have confirmed and the instructions you give it. It is optional: tables can be arranged by hand, and not using it takes nothing away from the service you bought.

The assistant applies changes directly to your room, and you can undo the last operation with “Undo”. What it proposes is a suggestion, not a decision of ours: it can be wrong, and we do not warrant that any arrangement is correct, balanced or suited to your event. Reviewing it before the wedding is up to you.

Your guests’ names are not sent to the model provider: before every request we replace them with meaningless labels and put them back only in the answer you read. Dietary requirements are not sent to it at all. The details are in the Privacy Policy.

The obligations in section 7 regarding your guests’ data still apply: you decide what to enter, and informing them — of this processing too — is your responsibility.

9. Intellectual property

The platform, design templates, software, trademarks and design elements of Sponsalia are owned by us or our respective licensors and are protected by law. With your purchase you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the published invite for your event.

You remain the owner of the Content you enter. You grant us a limited licence to host, reproduce and display it solely to provide the service (publishing and managing the invite).

10. Service availability and publication period

The payment is one-off and does not expire: if the wedding date is far away, your purchase stays valid until then, with no recurring charges.

Publication periods are counted from the wedding date you enter. The invite stays online until two months after that date, then it is taken offline. Data linked to the invite — including RSVPs — remains available and exportable from your account until twelve months after the wedding date, after which it is permanently deleted (see the Privacy Policy).

Thirty days before each of those deadlines you receive a notice at the email address linked to your account. You may of course ask us to take the invite down, or to delete your data, sooner.

We may carry out scheduled maintenance or urgent interventions that cause brief service interruptions.

11. Warranties and limitation of liability

We strive to offer a working, well-crafted service, but the service is provided “as is”, without guarantees of uninterrupted availability or freedom from errors.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you actually paid for the service and excludes indirect or consequential damages. We are not liable for failures of external providers (e.g. hosting, authentication, payments) or for events of force majeure beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including consumers’ mandatory statutory rights.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close the account in case of breach of these Terms or unlawful use of the service, with prior notice where possible.

You can request closure of your account and deletion of your data at any time by writing to info@sponsalia.app.

13. Changes to the Terms and the service

We may update these Terms for technical, legal or service reasons. The version published on this page, with its date, is the one in force; purchases remain governed by the Terms in force at the time of purchase.

14. Complaints and dispute resolution

For any complaint you can write to us at info@sponsalia.app: we will try to resolve the matter quickly and amicably.

As a consumer, you may also use the European online dispute resolution (ODR) platform available at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Italian law. For consumer relationships, the mandatory jurisdiction of the consumer’s place of residence or domicile applies; otherwise, the courts of the provider’s place of establishment have jurisdiction.

16. Processing of guest data (Art. 28 GDPR)

This section serves as the written agreement required by Art. 28(3) GDPR between you, the controller of your guests’ data, and Sponsalia, which processes it on your behalf as processor. It is as much for your benefit as ours: without it, you would be the one out of compliance.

Subject matter and duration: the processing consists of hosting, storing and displaying guest data in order to provide the service, and lasts as long as your account, subject to the retention periods in section 10 and in the Privacy Policy.

Nature, purpose and categories: we process guests’ names and contact details, their replies to the invitation, any dietary requirements, whether children are attending and the messages they leave, for the sole purpose of running the invitation and collecting RSVPs. The data subjects are the people you invite.

Our obligations: we process the data only on your documented instructions (using the service constitutes those instructions), never for our own purposes, and we neither sell nor disclose it; we bind everyone with access to confidentiality; we apply technical and organisational measures appropriate under Art. 32; and we assist you, so far as reasonable, if a guest exercises their rights or you have to answer a supervisory authority.

Sub-processors: we use the providers listed in the Privacy Policy, bound by equivalent obligations. You grant general authorisation for their use; if we change one, that list is updated.

Breaches: if we become aware of a breach affecting your guests’ data we will inform you without undue delay, with the information available to us so that you can meet your own obligations.

Deletion: at the end of the service the data is deleted according to the periods in section 10; you can export it from your account before those deadlines, and you can ask for earlier deletion at any time.

Audits: on your reasoned request we will make available the information needed to demonstrate compliance with these obligations.

Transfers outside the European Union: where necessary, these take place on the basis of appropriate safeguards, as set out in the Privacy Policy.

It remains your responsibility to have a lawful basis for inviting those people and to inform them: we show guests a note about the processing and a link to the privacy notice on the RSVP form, but the relationship with them is yours.
