This page explains how Sponsalia uses cookies. In short: technical cookies, needed for the site to work, are always on. Measurement and marketing cookies are set only if you consent, and you can change your mind at any time.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to make it work properly, to remember certain preferences, or to understand how it is used.

2. Necessary cookies (always on)

These make the site work and do not require your prior consent:

  • Session cookie (authentication): securely keeps you signed in to your account while you use the dashboard. It is essential and managed by our authentication provider.
  • Language-preference cookie: remembers which language you want the site in.
  • A record of your cookie choice: without it we would have to ask you again on every page.

3. Measurement cookies (optional)

They tell us, in aggregate, how many people use the site and where they stop. We use them to understand what is not working on our pages. They are set only with your consent.

4. Marketing cookies (optional)

If you consent, we install the pixel of Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, the company behind Facebook and Instagram. It does one thing: tell us whether you reached Sponsalia from one of our ads and then created an invitation, so we can see which ads make sense and stop paying for the ones that do not.

This means some data about your visit — IP address, pages viewed, browser identifier — is sent to Meta, which may also use it for its own purposes and may process it in the United States. Meta acts as an independent controller for its own processing; its notices are available on its website.

No marketing cookie is set before you consent, and none is set on the invitation pages couples share with their guests: your guests are not tracked.

5. Giving or withdrawing consent

On your first visit a banner offers three options: accept everything, accept only the necessary cookies, or choose category by category. Until you choose, we set nothing beyond the necessary cookies.

You can change your choice at any time from the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing is as easy as consenting and has no effect on your use of the service.

You can also block or delete cookies from your browser settings. Note that disabling technical cookies may prevent access to the private area.
